Finger Printing:

Go to https://uenroll.identogo.com

Contributor's Case: T06004

Organizing Agency Number: NJ920610Z

Category: YSB

Statute Number: 15A:3A-1

For the Rutgers SAFETY course please go to:

https://youthsports.rutgers.edu/safety-clinic-courses/

Courses are offered both on-line and in person. View the list of courses and choose the one whose day and time work for your schedule. The sponsoring agency doesn't matter as all of the courses are usually open to anyone. So, for instance it may say "Tri Town Little League" as one of the sponsors...that's fine…you can try to register for their course. You will not see one yet that says “North Plainfield Recreation”. You may need to establish an account through Community Pass in order to sign up for a course, but it is often easiest to call the phone number or email the person organizing the course and they can help you to register.

For both Fingerprinting and Rutgers Safety courses you will be asked to pay a small fee. Please give the receipts to our North Plainfield Recreation Directors or drop them off at the Recreation Office, 93 Greenbrook Road. You will be reimbursed by the recreation department after coaching at minimum 80% of the season. Additionally, when coaches are certified, they get free registration for one child (if they are a HEAD coach) during the season the parent is head coaching, so you would be reimbursed for your child's registration fee.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions at (908) 756-0247.

In order to coach for North Plainfield Recreation:

1. You must be 18 years or older.

2. You must complete the Rutgers SAFETY course. This is just a 2.5 to 3 hour course that can be taken on-line or in person.

3. You must get fingerprinted for a criminal background check (Even if you have already done this for another job, you must do it again so that the results come to recreation). The Finger Printing takes just five minutes. After getting your finger prints done they are automatically sent to the state for a criminal background check. The state then sends a report to the recreation director that simply lets us know if you are recommended or not recommended to coach. The state does not give the Recreation Director any more information than that. If it
comes back as “not recommended” to coach, the Recreation Director will discuss this with you directly.

4. You DO NOT have to live in North Plainfield to coach.

5. You do not need to have a child on the team but you can be the grandparent, older sibling, parent, neighbor of a player.

Participants MUST register with the Recreation office first.
